PARTY LEADER
My
name is John Elias Nesdoly and I am the Leader of the Western
Independence Party of Saskatchewan. I was born on April 25, 1974 in
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. I was raised in the Shellbrook area where
I graduated from High School in 1992. After a few years of wandering, I
finally settled down in Saskatoon where I attended the University of
Saskatchewan studying history and politics. During this time I became
very involved in politics primarily in the Reform and Saskatchewan
Parties. It was during this time that I came to realize that the only
logical solution for the collective problems of Western Canada was for
us to become an independent Nation.Ever since the time of Confederation, Upper and Lower Canada (Southern Ontario and Quebec) have completely dictated the policies for the rest of the Nation. Almost all of these policies have been for the benefit of Upper and Lower Canada at the expense of Western Canada. Time and again we in the West have had to stand by as Eastern Canada elected government after government whose policies were anti-western and very detrimental to our region. From the National Policy, to the National Energy Program, the gun registry and now the Kyoto Accord once again the West is being plundered to protect the interests and views of Upper and Lower Canadians. We in the West are tired of having our money used to buy votes for anti-western governments in Upper and Lower Canada.
The time to act is now. It is time for us to build a separate and independent Western Nation.
