FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Dana Arnason Press Officer WIP of SK voice: 306.827.7890 e-mail: press.wipsk@gmail.com web: www.wipsk.com WESTERN INDEPENDENCE PARTY OF SASKATCHEWAN ANNUAL CONVENTION Great Bend, Saskatchewan - November 29, 2006 - The Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan is holding its annual Convention beginning at 2PM on December 2, 2006 at the Regina West Harvest Inn - 4025 Albert St. South. Delegates will debate a number of policy issues at the first Party Convention to be held in Regina since the Party was created in 2003. Party Directors agreed holding a Convention in Regina was good news for Party members in the south of Saskatchewan. Party Leader Gord Elias said "I am looking forward to a great Convention with some good work done towards really making this Province and this Party work well." The WIP ran candidates in 17 constituencies in the last General Election, but Party President, Neil Fenske, wants even more. "We need to run more candidates in this coming election and eventually run in every riding in the Province." "This next Provincial election is vitally important to the future of Saskatchewan. Having more people entering the political process is what makes Democracy work. Issues can be raised and people are made more aware of the critical decisions facing us all." -ends-
