WESTERN INDEPENDENCE PARTY OF SASKATCHEWAN RENEWS LEADERSHIP

Great Bend, Saskatchewan - March 19, 2007 -

The Board of Directors of The Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan voted unanimously to appoint John Nesdoly as Party Leader, after accepting the resignation of Gordon Elias as Interim Leader at their regular Board meeting Saturday. Mr. Nesdoly will serve as an Interim Leader until a Leadership Convention is held, as required by the Party Constitution.
Leader John Nesdoly: "I would like to thank the Board of Directors for the faith they have shown in me in giving me this mandate. Now is the time for all of us to come together and move forward towards the founding of a new, prosperous and independent Western Canada free from Eastern Canadian domination."

Mr. Nesdolys first act as Leader was to appoint David Sawkiw as Deputy Leader, who also received the unanimous support of the Board.
The Board and Executive expresses it's thanks and appreciation to Mr. Elias for his hard work and dedication in the past two years. Mr. Elias will continue to serve on the Board of Directors, as will Neil Fenske, who has resigned as Deputy Leader. Franks Serfas and Tony Ollenberger remain as Party President and Vice-President.

President Frank Serfas: "It was time to renew, and refocus our efforts. Mr. Nesdolys youthful vitality and spirit, along with his knowledge of history and political affairs will give us a big shot in the arm. Combined with Mr. Sawkiws years of political activism, and past experience as spokesman for WIN-INC 2001-2002. WIP now has one of the strongest political one-two combinations in Saskatchewan politics."
