The Battlefords

Hello I’m Gordon Elias, your Western Independence Party of Saskatchewan candidate in the Battlefords.

I will be running in the general election on November 7th.
I was born in North Battleford Saskatchewan and raised on a farm. I’ve been married  to my wife Laverne for 36 years. We have two sons and 6 grandchildren. We were in BC for 14 years where we owned a excavating business. I am a carpenter by trade as well as a private pilot. I have also served on a private school board. We presently own a small international manufacturing firm.

By voting for the WIP you are not only voting for change in this riding but in all of Saskatchewan and ultimately Western Canada. I have spoken to hundreds of people in Western Canada and brushed them with the idea of a border drawn North and South on the other side of Manitoba and the response is the same and most times amplified, ”Yes it’s about time”. We are continually bled and run by Ontario and Quebec. We cannot blame them for taking care of themselves; but now we have the opportunity to take care of ourselves at the ballot box. Jean Chretien allowed Quebec the opportunity to vote out. Now we can also. The start towards  freedom from central Canada could start right here in the Battlefords. The start of a new Nation. Sound familiar. A nation with Freedom, Equality, and Justice. Creating a security to not only the people of Saskatchewan but also Western Canada. Our desire is to see the Canadian West stay together and feel they will once this information gets out. It's time for people to have a say in the political field on how things are done in Saskatchewan and the West. We want to see democracy brought back to our province.

You may say we have democracy but even the date of this by-election as well as provincial and federal elections are not preset, when knowingly the majority would want this done, like civic elections. Why has this not been done? Could it be that each party wants power over the people? The WIP BELIEVES there should be no less than two votes on your ballot - one for leader and one for your MLA. Some have said it is too costly to have referendums. I say it has and will continue to be more expensive not having them. These would be done at election time and set in place by a people’s petition or the elected MLA’s. We have been lulled to sleep with the continuous bickering done in Regina making our political scene very unstable. If you had 58 executives in a company of similarity you would go broke! Its time for change! Where voters can help make changes that politician’s can’t make. Through referendum voting this can be achieved, as well as elected officials instead of appointed ones by a dictatorial hand full of people at the top of a political party. Whatever one of my counterparts you vote for, they are taught to tear apart whatever the other has done and the taxpayer feels the tear. Now our freedoms are being eroded away while this foolish system carries on. In Nunavut they have a different system than the provinces. Also countries like Switzerland have used referendum voting for more than 80 years and it works well there.

You will gain nothing by voting for any other candidate. You will challenge the system by voting for Western Independence in this election.  You know what the present system has and will continue to do to us, and also what it doesn’t get done.

Vote for change. Vote for Gordon Elias on November 7th.

I will work for you.
Gordon Elias
